BBN Express 6 March 2013

City of BoroondaraThis monthly networking event held in the Blackwood Room at the Camberwell Offices of the City of Boroondara, 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell and hosted by Danika Benison attracted a large group of regulars and some new faces.

It was very interesting to meet Maryanne Long from StayTuned Sports Medicine about free workplace health checks and Christina Widuckel from Colbrow Healthcare about in home palliative nursing care being a growth industry as ‘so many people are dying from cancer and want to do it at home.’

I chatted to Martin Healey from Working Progress who has started up a new bookkeeping business and Kym Phillips from MCorp Consulting who helps people plan their move.

Also nice to see Ali Hesami out and about networking face to face looking for work and the regular guests relying on a constant presence and referrals to drive good quality leads to their businesses (David Lumb, Andrew Nicholls, Chris Risteski, Christine Hopper, Maria Semple, Mary and Kelvin Tan, Ned Surla, Chris Warren, Luke Primon and others).

Several people I didn’t get to talk to in the one hour event – it would be great if these events could be 90 minutes long.

These events are held on the first Wednesday of every month and the After Work Drinks for Camberwellians and Networkers are held at the Palace Hotel, 893 Burke Road Camberwell on the third Wednesday of every month. Details of more events in Camberwell online here.
